AFG Award Time Frame

I have a strange question:

Generally speaking, how long is it from notification of an award to being able to spend the money?

Here is the situation:

We applied to refurbish one of our ambulances. This ambulance is now out of service requiring $2500 in repairs. We are trying to decide whether to fix it or wait to hear back from AFG about the grant. I know AFG is supposed to move along quickly this year, but if it take 6 months after the award to be able to spend the money then we might make the repairs.

Am I making sense? If not, just ask and I will clarify.

If you have been officially awarded ( I am not talking about the letter that ask you if you will accept or decline the award), you can start spending the money right away. It sounds like you are still waiting to hear about the award. Have you received any notifications about your aplication?

I have never had to wait more than a week or two for funds, even if only two weeks after grant award.

We have not been awarded yet. I am hoping to hear soon either way since it seems like they are trying to move quickly this year. Hopefully I don't hear by way of a DJ in the next day or two!

Once you have been awarded and accepted the grant you can begin spending the funds.
