K-Cup machine fires?
Any one noticing a trend of kitchen fires started by K-Cup or Keurig machines? A friend suffered a melt down of his unit and near fire, google search turned up several incidents of small fires. These things are everywhere, and most of us leave them on 24/7 so there is a high potential, wondering if this is a start of a trend?

I have not seen one yet, but with anything related to coffee makers, I wouldn't be surprised. Have you looked at the Consumer Products Safety Comission site for info (cpsc.gov)?

I did a little poking around the CPS website but its a huge site and I'm not that familiar with it. I also started the same thread in the Firefighter's section of this forum and posted several things I found on Google along with photos from a friend who experienced a fire.

We have not had any fires that I know of related to these machines. I did notice that my wifes Keurig machine began to get hotter and hotter every time she used it and then it died. Keurig replaced it with a new one and it does not seem to get as hot as the old one. The old one was only about 7 months old when it died and this appears to be a common problem.
