Does anyone know about boise's hiring process for paramedic/firefighters. I know lots of departments are hurting for paramedics was just wondering if boise was in the same boat.

When I took it 2 years ago they used a version of the FPSI Test, the one without a take home study guide. Basic math, reading, mechanical, and HR stuff. They didn't hire off that list not sure if they are planning on it this time around. Had fun testing there.

It wasn't the version that requires a study guide. It was just a general knowledge exam like I said before. I missed the cut off by .07% I wanna say the cut off was around a 92%.

Anyone recieve anything in the mail yet? I'm set to deploy soon and REALLY need to find out something about the hiring schedule. I read Boise is suppose to have their list complete 01OCT12. I can't find any dates about anything in between though.
To the guys that have gone through Boise before, what were the dates of the years before?

Anyone receive their exact time and date yet? I'm on the East Coast and didn't receive my fee paperwork by mail until the 22nd. I'm worried I won't get the info until mid late march and I need to buy plane tickets/schedule leave ASAP.
Good luck to everyone, see you there!
Thanks for the info.

Did you turn your paperwork in the same day? The email said all test fees had to be postmarked Feb 22nd at the latest in order to be accepted.
If so, you should be good. I haven't received my dates yet. That email should be going out within a couple days, the email says the first week of March.

I heard a rumor that Boise Fire is actually facing layoffs right now. I'm super bummed because I'm on the last list and plan on testing again so hopefully the rumor is false. Anyone else heard anything?

I've been doing as much research as possible about Boise Fire and I haven't heard the layoff rumor. I really hope it isn't true.

For what it's worth, BFD HR squashed the layoff rumor. For now anyway

Anyone know how many tested? Also, I heard someone say at the test today that they're looking to fill eight spots? Anyone know if that's true?

The lady taking our names told me around 1000 for the fire and around 100 for the medic. And one guy testing said they're going to hire 7-12, but honestly, who knows for sure. Just focus on getting on the list.
