Boy taken to hospital after fall in Orem park

A 9-year-old boy toppled off a slide in Orem Sunday morning, falling 15 feet and hitting his head. According to Orem Department of Public Safety Sgt. Craig Martinez, the boy was playing with his grandpa at Nielsen Grove Park around 10:30 a.m. when he fell. The boy was first taken to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, Martinez said, then flown to Primary Children’s Medical Center in Salt Lake City. Martinez added that the boy did not have any obvious injuries, but did hit his head. Authorities did not have updates on the boy’s condition.
