Default GMC Terrain/Chevy Equinox Side Air Bags

Recently we had a 2011 GMC Terrain in our shop to replace the side air bags. They were deployed when a deer hit the front passenger door right at the scensor. The dent was less than 10" across and 3" deep but it was enough to set off the bags.

Our tech had to replace the whole system and while he had the interior apart I had the chance to take these pictures. Please note where the gas cartridge is, over the "B" pillar. This is why it's important to take the time to pull the interior finish if you're not sure.

Do you mind a guy using these pics for training? I try to emphasize to our guys to "peal and peak", and this shows exactly why.

I appreciate it. Always like to ask before I assume.

Thank you for the pictures. As a safety officer, I try to stay on top of the changes that come along in the car industry and pass the information to my people.
As an owner of a 2010 Terrain (my wife has a 2012 Equinox, too) I was really interested in seeing these pictures. Thanks.
