Training Requirement for Regional Comm Grant
Our county was just awarded a regional Communications grant for new radios and pagers. I was told today that for us to take part in the grant we would be required to have 25% of our FF’s to FFII. This did not seem right to me. Can anyone tell me if this can be done?

Unless that's a requirement that the county or someone threw in then no, it wasn't an AFG requirement. After all, the grant's already been awarded and you are already a participant since if your department's information was included in the grant then it was awarded based on that information. The host can't change the requirements now unless they did something like say everyone is at 25% certification for FF2 and that was a BS line to help scoring. I hope not, but I don't say it without having seen it done on apps before...
In a nutshell, if your department was part of the region they explained in the app then you get the proceeds from it. They can't make any training requirements at this point in time. It's not coming from DHS, that's for sure.
