    I was told by poly guy just "thank you, good luck". So it kinda makes me feel better about not him telling me. I hear its a good sign that there was no post test interview/questioning. I hope they start calling for interviews this week!

    Still waiting hopefully on the poly. Idk if they are still calling, but I was told I had a long wait last week.

    Question for any Dallas locals:

    God willing I get this job, I'll be moving with my gf and daughter from California. Does anyone have recommendations on areas to live. It might be just me in Dallas for the duration of the academy(roomates???), but I still would like a local's perspective .

    Hope everyone is doing well. Stay patient and do what you can to prepare yourselves. Good luck to all.

    Welcome to Texas xsheenx!

    I wouldn't suggest anywhere near the heart of town. Too expensive. Up north a bit along highway 75 there r apartments that aren't too far from the training center. A small one bedroom may be about $700-$800.

    I too will be coming from CA if all goes well. I would be open to moving in with roommates in a place. Would be good for studying purposes.

    @Delson: Did you take your polygraph on the same day as your cpat?

    @xsheenx: What city in CA are you from?

    Any out of towners waiting for a polygraph exam?

    @dc/sheen:

    I took the poly and cpat the same day, may 30th I believe.
    I live in south orange county (mission viejo).

    I was talking to another guy from CA whom sounded open to doing a rental on a place.
    Would be good for a house and a bunch of fire guys for studying purposes and what not. Got his number incase we get through

    @gtcapt

    CA FF jobs are very competitive . The pay scale is great (most entry level FF can make 65-75k first year). Many depts will have 2500+ applicants for a test , take 500 candidates to the test, and hire 10 off that list. It's a job that everyone wants.
