For those of you who've scheduled your CPAT/Poly, did they call you? Or did you contact them? Thanks.

    HanoverFF,

I was able to schedule my CPAT but the guy at recruitment had no idea about polygraph. How did you get your poly scheduled? I'm coming from the Northeast and would love to condense everything. Thanks.

I called the recruiting office and talked to a lady I'm guessing was the receptionist. I told her I was from out of town and heard that you can do both in one trip. She scheduled me for a CPAT and poly, told me she would call if anything changed.*

Questions for the recruits who have already taken the accuplacer exam:

I have read on this thread that the mathematics portion consists only of arithmetics. How many questions were asked? Can someone confirm.

I'm in Los Angeles, Ca. For those who took the exam here, did the institution charge you to administer the accuplacer exam. How much?

    Thanks for your help!

    Passed my Accuplacer last week.
Emailed all paperwork to Ron Johnson.
Called the recruiting office today and scheduled my CPAT for June 8.
    They're scheduling the CPAT May 8-June 8.

I'm coming in from Los Angeles, so theyre scheduling my polygraph either the day before my CPAT or same day.

    Hey DCTALK,
Fullerton College gives the Accuplacer. $30.

    Good luck everyone.

Is/was there a dead line when candidates need to take the accuplacer exam by? Anyone else having difficulty getting in contact with Ron Johnson? Thanks in advance.

Not sure if there is a deadline or not, I would call the recruiting office. Remember they said to document how many times you have tried to reach Ron and no reply.

Exchanged emails w/ Ron but communication w/ him has been non existent w/ him. I called the recruiting office and the individual I spoke w/ said that there was a "deadline". I emailed Capt. Florence to get a confirmation w/ him. I'll try calling again tomorrow. Anyone else having a hard time getting in contact w/ Ron to schedule the accuplacer exam? Thanks, much appreciated everyone!

I'm having an extremely hard time trying to contact him. I called recruiting again and they gave me a number to call his supervisor as well. Left his supervisor a voicemail, but still no reply! What's up with this college!?

What does the CPAT consist of and is there a time limit? Thanks for the help, I am taking the CPAT the 15 and I wasn't able to make in practice runs because I live in Houston and am currently going through the fire academy.

And does anyone know if I can schedule my Poly for the same day or after, or do you have to live out of state?

did you tell them when you picked your CPAT time? Id call them back and explain your from houston.

There is a time limit for CPAT, but i cant remember it, i think its around 10mins.

Does anyone know the starting pay for a recruit if you r already fire and medic certified? and how much is the insurance for a family?

Call the recruiting office and explain your dilemma. The CPAT consists of eight events with a time limit of 10 mins 20 secs. There are videos on YouTube.
