I received an email saying that I moved on to the next step, you probably didn't pass the written.. It's done by the civil service crew so DFR wouldn't know anything about it, they don't know your scores, they just know if you passed or not.. If you get to the point of physical, polygraph, and interview then you want to call and stay up to date with where your at, files can easily be lost with the amount of people that test/move on.. Good luck
Yea, I work at a small dept now but I want somewhere bigger and busier. I'm only testing at certain places. Denton, Irving, Dallas, Arlington, Lewisville.
I've also got a question about the Accuplacer. If I have taken the Accuplacer before as a requirement for certain college classes, would I still have to take the Accuplacer for Dallas? Is there an 'expiration' date for the scores? Also, does anybody have any information on what the minimum scores that is required on the Accuplacer sections?
My scores are on an official college transcript, so I'm hoping they could accept them.
Thanks!
They accept them if they are current within a year of the date they want them in by which will be sometime in April.. For the cut off scores, check the UT Southwestern website and find the paramedic page, it will be on there, the accuplacer is just to see if your able to get into UTSW for EMT/medic school
"Official college transcript must reflect a minimum of 45 semester credit hours (no developmental courses) with an overall grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher from a college or university accredited by a Regional Institutional Accrediting Organization (Originals only). "
What are developmental classes?
Developmental classes are classes that are below college level... kind of like if you don't get into College Algebra 1, sometimes you have to take some classes that are below it. You get a GPA for them but can't use them as credit. Same way for English classes.
In the college I went to they were labeled like this:
DMAT 98, DMAT 99, etc.
Thanks . I appreciate the help.
