Any more info on this test? How many expected to test? Pretty pricey to fly there, but would be amazing to be able to fish EVERY day you were off duty

Nope. My fiance applied. Still waiting! Hopefully we'll know soon because the test date is rapidly approaching and we're out of state.
I'm with you MuscleMan! I love my Rocky Mountain trout... but I've never fished saltwater and I have visions of red drum and speckled trout dancing in my head like it's Christmas Eve.
He has family in Corpus and he loves it there. Says it's the only place in TX he would live.

Fiance scored 90. No military points. Passed the physical. That personal history packet is a doozie. Took him about 18 hours to complete, and he's young with a simple and squeaky clean background.

87 with no military, we'll see where that puts me. Spoke with a firefighter while I was there, the Plan is to hire 25 now and 25 more in 6 months.

Yeah that's similar to what we heard too. His family there saw in the paper they're currently looking for 30. When he was testing he heard the same thing bout taking 50. He heard one of the reasons for such a big hiring is they want to bump up minimum staffing (maybe going from 3 to 4 on the engines etc).

The eligibility list is posted on the city's human resources page. Ranked 68... Guess well see how the rest of the process goes.

Fyi...
Corpus Christi Fire Department retests applicants after discrepancies in physical testing
Interesting. The article also states academy is scheduled to start July 30th.
Has anyone heard from them yet after the roster was posted?

Yeah, they're almost done with my background check. They need to talk to two more of my coworkers and then the next step happens. So far so good.
