Im looking for a 2 way portable radio made by Motorola. Im wondering what is a good model to look at and possible buy. Just looking to buy one of my own because around my department there difficult to come by and we have to share 1 radio to 2 men. So if anyone has any tips or knows where I can get a brand new one and where to get them please feel free to shoot any and all information as you can. Thanks to anyone that helps. Please message me if you have some information or suggestions. Thanks again.

need a lot more info before making recommendations.
What type of system is the dept using? analog, digital, trunked, 700,800 mhz open sky, ??
What is the model # /\/\ that the dept is using now?
How big is your wallet?
Do you have a way of getting it programed in house?
Will the dept allow you to operate on it's frequency? I ask because if your using a trunked system there can be unit fees for network useage.
Since it's /\/\ I need to ask again : HOW BIG is your wallet?

I used to be a big fan of 'M', but then we switched to Kenwood and I have never looked back. Super high quality and outstanding prices.

It all depends on what type of system they use. If his dept is using a proprietary system only certain radios will work on it.
I'm guessing we scared him off, as he hasn't been back.

It also depends on IF they would permit you to buy and use you own portable radio on their radio system.
It also depends on what kind of operation you department is working on as the cost could vary from several hundreds to thousands of dollars.
I don't know about you, I'm not going to spend that kind of money.Stay Safe and Well Out There....
