    Default Company Website

Looking for some constructive criticism here. I just took over as webmaster for my company's site, and after hours of sorting through all the old work was able to start changing things around and updating things a little. One problem I know we are having is certain things are working like they should with Mozilla Firefox, but Google Chrome and IE both work perfect. It's not totally finished yet but opinions/ideas would be great. Thanks.

It's pretty good. It is simple, but still well done and looks refined.

website looks good. I have firefox and Its working perfect.

The only suggestion that I would have is that you switch the stories around to descend (from newest up top to oldest at bottom). This way when people visit your website they don't have to scroll all the way down the page to see the current stories.

Also when you have small pictures, like the ones of the engine, I wouldn't give them any effects as they are small as it is. I would suggest if you are going to put effects, then make the pictures bigger!!

besides that, It looks good and does the job.

On our site there is a thumbnail (which can be one of the "effects" images you used) for each apparatus on the main apparatus page, which hyperlinks to a separate page for each apparatus, where there is a larger picture and more information about the apparatus (capabilities, etc).

Personal opinion - put "Pennsylvania" somewhere on the homepage, just so someone randomly running into your page knows where you are.

    Looking good, though.
Opinions my own. Standard disclaimers apply.

I'll be honest, I only looked for a few seconds....

    1) too slow to load - the high res picture/background was taking way to long for an opening page to load.
    2) first thing I noticed - Jam Session ad. Is this a firehouse website or an advertising place?

Opening pages should be quick to load....real quick. And the main focal point should be about your firehouse.

The jam session is held in our hall as a small fundraiser for us. Makes us some money each week and we have to pay nothing to do it, plus some of our members are musicians themselves.
