    Default Background investigation

Preferably for new jersey; does juvenile crimes hurt your chances of being hired. Also has anyone ever been hired with dwi or conduct tickets on their record. In other words, what kinda backround discrepancy will disqualify a candidate?

    Default Backgrounds

It's not as easy as unbroken 136 has out it. You have to remember that there will be many you compete with and whos records are clean. Yes you could be hired but if there are others on your list who have clean records they might be put ahead of you.....Good Luck!!

    Default Expunged

Just remember your Juvenile record is never expunged to a Background Investigator. They have access and if your ever asked.."Have you ever......" you should not leave this out. If you do and they dig deep and find you were untruthful....your toast.

There are automatic disqualifiers that can be found on their website usually or the job posting, but it also can be affected by other candidates and how good/bad their records look. They won't say that of course (every applicant is treated fairly) but if you've got a blip on your radar, as inconsequential as it may seem, they *may* move on to someone that doesn't.

Their motto isn't "hope for the best" when they have hundreds of guys to choose from. But all you can do is apply, test well, don't hide anything and keep at it if it doesn't work out.

Also some places will allow you an exemption for crimes you committed as a juvenile. Maybe check for that option too.

    Good luck!

As long as you aren't an axe murderer, a pedophile, or a Branch Davidian...you should be fine. Keep your nose clean, your explanations truthful/reasonable and mold yourself into the best candidate possible and you'll do great.

When the application came out Belleville was listed as hiring from all of Essex County, during the year + process of the administration of the exam then changed the hiring area to their town only. The just hired 8 guys, all town residents, instead of veterans from all of Essex County. They did this to get to relatives, and to avoid vets. If you are a veteran or volunteer that should have been ahead of the relatives I mean residents , You have grounds for a lawsuit. Post if you think you should have been hired and maybe we can work together.
