    Default Resume Question

I am currently working on a Fire Science degree at a junior college and plan on taking the EMT course as well as a fire academy after the degree is finished.

It is is my goal to be hired as a full time paid firefighter in a medium to large size city.

Would volunteering as a firefighter while working on all of my education benefit me in the hiring process when I actually begin putting in applications for career level-fire stations?

    Thanks

    PS: I am in CA.

I am also working towards a similar goal and would like to hear what others have to say about volunteer and reserve opportunities.

    Yes it will look good

    And can provide good references

Suggest get ff and emt cert first unless a city requires college hours to apply
