I heard mixed rumors. One was that they had 6 people decline the job at the last minute. Also another rumor was late results from from medicals. Who knows what the situation is. Things will hopefully change soon.

Maybe some more phone calls are in the works? Guess this will push off the thoughts on an april class and then an august class....

After a quick google search it seems the dept and county were heavily criticized through 2012 with the racial make up of its dept versus the make up of the county, similar to fdnys predicament, I wonder if this is the issue that is causing delays in the hiring, I hope they hire the ones who worked hard and deserve the job and not the ones who can fill a quota.

I have gotten an email saying that they haven't started hiring the second class yet, but the list is valid for one year. I assume that message is just a generic message that is sent to anyone who asks how things are going thus far.

I was chosen for the first class and 3 days before we we supposed to start I got notified that it was postponed until further notice. I haven't heard anything since then. They said they would notify us with the new start date whenever that happens.

I had made it all the way through the process so far as possible select for 2nd class. I havent heard or gotten **** after the oral interview! Its boring and cold over here in the dark!

Funny when i called yesterday recruitment never said a thing about the first class not get started yet....still hoping for the 2nd RC......

well next time you call recruitment you should ask about the first class. As a person who was selected for the first class I can assure you it hasn't started yet. we received our books and other study material when we got fitted for uniforms back in late Dec/early jan. good luck getting into the second class. if they send us any emails with any updates as to the new start date I will be glad to share with you guys.

Ya i did ask and that's what they told me.....would be nice to get some info or update....but good luck in the RC whenever it starts....also keep us posted....

was informed today new start date of 1st class is now Saturday April 6th.

So when was this list established? September 2012? It's is a 2 year list?

I have been told that it is a 1 year list and i believe that it was established at the end of the interviews so probably September/October. Also I was told that selections for the 2nd class are to be starting in the next few months.

Yeah seems like they may only take 2 classes off this list. If Baltimore County Fire is where you really want to be I suggest applying for probationary emt. Apps will be accepted starting april 8. Atleast is another way in.

Has anyone heard anything for the second class? I think this is the worst sit on my thumb and wait situation i have ever been in!
