I read that story too. Truly an End Of An Era. Unfortunately even those of us in uniform tend to forget sometimes, just what it is those folks fought and died for and the conditions in which they lived. And now the only way anyone will get even a small lick of understanding will be by reading a book, and we all know that is no where near as good as a first hand, in person accounting.
We are loosing our WWII vets at an ever increasing accelerating rate too. Soon we will be lesser a world for their passing.
