Hello brothers and sisters
I was just wondering what procedures or SOGs any other departments may have on how they would de-ice their aerial in freezing weather operations. Our two aerial apparatus are a 75 foot Smeal ladder/quint, and a 100' Pierce Aerial platform. I am sure there are other departments that may have the same type of apparatus and was hoping to gain some information on what other departments have researched/explored/implemented! thanks for your responses!

Maybe the easiest way would be to retract and extend every so often when you have a chance of ice build up.
