wow... but they should have told you during the process if you failed any part right? They haven't called me or emailed me about anything... man now I'm getting worried...

I got mine yesterday. I think they are sending them out one by one. I got a message from a guy who was 141 and is now going through everything and said that 30 of the top 120 washed out and they had to go further down the list. Good Luck!

Or if you get accepted, start asking on here if anyone needs a roommate , if you are single

Plenty of places around Austin, some cost a little

Suggest if you are single try short term lease near the academy

Traffic is not fun in Austin

Anyone here going out for this year's process? Feels like I'm refreshing the "Prospective Applicants" page constantly to see if they've posted the timeline. Last year's applications were due April 1-4, but I don't know how much advance warning they gave people before they were due.

I was set to take the written exam w/ Austin but due to finances, I was not able to. I plan on taking this years exam. I wonder how many recruits Austin is planing to hire? God speed.

I too have been updating their prospective applicants page over and over. It looks like last year, according to post 1, it was known in Feb when the test would be. It sounds like they are running a little later than last year. This has been a trend lately for apparently as San Antonio tested later, and Ft Worth too is going on over a year since their last test.

Interesting line from the site: "Following are the requirements for a Fire Cadet. Applicants must meet all requirements as of May 13, 2013".
I feel that implies they were looking to test on May 13, 2013....I dont see that happening though since no applications have been taken yet.

Friend of a friend kind of on the inside says to plan on apps being due sometime around the 17th of April.
