I was hoping the results were going to be posted today, but it doesn't look like it.

Written tests came out around lunchtime on a Thursday. No telling when it'll be.

    Default Not much here...

...but it does provide some context to the ongoing political dispute around the hiring process.

Well just hope you all get hired this go around.

No telling what the next test will be like!!

Hope you got the bumper sticker all ready " keep Austin weird"

Maybe before the next test line everyone up per ethnicity and demographics and make that the requirement that there is a representation before any test is given.

That's not accurate. The census is updated every 10 years, and that 1 has a date of 2000,

    Default Update

Though discouraged, I'll admit I'm not surprised.

The phrasing the hiring staff used in response to Aliciaaaaah's email, "a hiring update will be posted," troubled me with its deliberate vagueness. The optimistic interpretation was that scores would be posted, but my inner cynic kind of expected exactly this.

Guess we've just got to hang in there, but I really hope that this pans out according to what they're outlining here, and it isn't a prelude to canning the whole thing--if that's where it ends up, I'd rather just be told.

    Murphy wins...for now.

    2013 EMPLOYMENT PROCESS

HIRING UPDATE – START OF INDIVIDUAL ASSESSMENT PHASE (8/8/13)

To Current Applicants – the combined scores from the written exam administered May 13, the structured oral interview (SOI) administered July 17-18, and military points (if applicable) are currently being compiled and reviewed. Given the estimated time to complete that process, we currently expect that the next phase of the 2013 hiring process will occur in mid-October 2013. This phase will involve a number of individual assessments, including a Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT), medical screening, psychological screening, drug testing and background investigations.

When the combined scores from the earlier tests plus military points have been compiled and reviewed, the list of candidates advancing to the individual assessment phase will be posted to the Austin Fire Department website. We expect that will occur within the next few weeks. Once the list is posted, we will begin scheduling appointments for the individual assessments described above. Candidates may wish to use the upcoming weeks to prepare for the rigorous physical testing associated with the CPAT. Please check the CPAT link on the Fire Employment website for training tips and test information.

Is it still up and just not showing up on my phone or has it been removed?

Yeah I see the update. Basically it says the actual scores won't be posted for a another few weeks.

I'm guessing that they have the scores in hand, but they are waiting for this union negotiation fiasco to blow over before they post the results.

Okay, everybody keep calm and take a deep breath. We only have a few more weeks of waiting. Trust me, it'll all be worth it in the end. At least this means they're not canning the hiring process. Right??

The City and the Union must reach an agreement by Sept 30, or they will have to scrap this whole process.

Guessing the reason we have to keep holding our breath is to get a better idea of if they'll be scrapping the process. No use in spending all that money on CPAT orientations, background checks, etc, if they're not going to hire any of us. They already blew a big wad on interviewing 3000 of us.

They have done it (scrap the process) several times in the past. FYI

Did everyone get the email? Or just read the update off the web?
