I am going off the AFD Fire Cadet Post Interview Instruction Sheet (website). They were also handing them out at the checkout station after the SOI. The sooner the better! Best of luck to everyone!

I don't know if I can take 23 more days of this! I heard about 20% of the 1500 didn't show up for their interview. That means 1200 people interviewed for 120 spots. You just need to make the top 10%!

I was wondering what the percentage of no-shows was. I was hoping it would be higher

3 More weeks and we'll know if we're moving on or if I dream is going to just take that much longer to get to!

I see, must have been recently changed since the handout given after the SOI stated Aug. 8th.

As for the total number that showed up for the SOIs, 1278.

Hey guys I saw this on the news and wondered if it would increase the 120 cadet number?

They just found out and are waiting to see how it will impact their hiring numbers. They posted about it on their facebook page a few days ago.

Since I do not have facebook, would you be willing to copy and paste whatever they posted on their Facebook page?

I know it's still a long shot, but if I some how make the top few I will be needing to move out to Austin! Anyone currently living there have any preference as where about to look for apartments or what not?

Hey it's good to think positive right!

Definitely good to stay positive! I am a born and raised Austinite but unfortunately I have only lived in south Austin. Obviously the farther away from downtown the cheaper it is. There are some great apartments off Slaughter Lane where you interviewed. I actually went to that high school haha.

I figured that would be that case . I did notice some pretty good looking apartments around the area of slaughter lane.. I'm guessing where ever your staying at would be within a reasonable amount of travel time to any given firehouse?

    7 days folks!

Yeah, that whole slaughter area is nice and relatively close to everything. If you had to go up to north austin it could take you about 25 minutes or so. These last 3 days are going to crawl! This is my first time trying to get in so I can't get my hopes up too much.

I am kind of hoping that since there are 2 different dates posted on their website (8th and 10th) that maybe they'll get posted today! One can only hope. But if not today, only 2 more days to find out if we move on or not!

Being that the post interview handout said the 8th, should be today.

I know at 5 o'clock I'll be checking the site just in case they manage to post the list.. If not 2 more days isn't far at all! Good luck everyone
