They'll be there, was talking to some of the DC folks the other day asking if I'd be there too. Don't know the answer to that yet, supposed to be at a pre-OCS Phase 1 drill that weekend but supposedly it's "not required". If I can get out of it might sneak up for the weekend, if not might just sneak up for Thursday and back that night. Either way, DHS will probably have a booth like the other expos, and at least 1 class. Usually do more to make it more accessible to everyone but haven't heard a final decision either.

It is my understanding that they will have their normal booth there and they will be making presentations on both Thursday and Friday. Kevin Piatt, Cathy Patterson and Dave Gudinas will be present. One of those presentations will be a "Town Hall" style meeting from what I have been told. I attended this last year and I can tell of you that if you are in fact at FDIC, this should be a "must stop" on your list of things you are going to do while there. This is your chance to be face-to-face with the AFG main staff and get your questions answered and your concerns addressed. I found both Kevin Piatt and Cathy Patterson last year to be very approachable and affable; their input to me was invaluable in preparation for the 2011 AFG and if it is at all possible, I will be there again this year as well.

Did anyone attend this? We were running late getting in on Thursday and I wasn't able to make it in time. Just curious if there was any great revelations this year.

Wasn't too much, small revalations in terms of the changes for next year. Minor stuff like there will be no "Other" in any of the request dropdowns, and regionals will be subject to better computer scoring metrics so they don't slip through into Peer like many did in 2011. Didn't actually go but saw everything from the PPT a few weeks ago and had a decent discussion with program management about some other stuff in their booth before I took off for the day.
