Thread: DUNS Scam?

    Default DUNS Scam?

    A neighboring dept. got a call a few days ago from someone claiming they are from the office that creates the DUNS #'s. They said people have requested the fire co.'s credit history from them and that the fire company needs to add info their profile so they are able to distribute the info to the people requesting it. They claimed it would cost the fire co. around $1000 for them to add this info their profile.

    Anyone ever heard of this? I've told them it's a scam but just wanted to make sure.

    Definatly a scam. There is no cost to setup a duns #
    Similar to one I heard about recently requesting $5,000.00 to file an app with FCC for radio relicensing.
