We just got set up with a Dräger X-am 2000 multi gas detector and now writing our SOG for use and maintenance. I think due to liability issues the manufacturer leaves a lot up to the owner and have little recommendations on when to do bump testing.
What does your department do? Daily, weekly, before every use?
Would like to hear your recommendations.
Thanks in advance.

In our department we bump weekly as part of testing and record all readings. Overtime we can see the reading drift and when sensors are starting to be compromised. Ie the electrochemical sensors (co and h2s).
Before any operational use we also bump to ensure each sensor is working. We are running msa sirius with pid, co, lel, h2s and o2 sensors.
Hopefully inthe near future wewill go to a new unitwith 6 sensors with the addition of hcn.
Cheers
Hope this helps

In Dallas, we bump test every 2 weeks and calibrate 1st of the month.

Thanks for the replies folks. As always these forums are a wealth of knowledge to help us out. Will use some of your recommendations to get an SOG going.
