Prowland, or anyone else just curious , do they hook you in to a safety line when you go up the ladder? also did you just wear workout clothes or did they put you in bunker gear and have you climb?

I passed with a time of 1min 36sec. I thought I was going to get tangled up at first because there was a ton of slack in the rope and then it got tangled up on the ladder and I had to untangle it while climbing.

I have heard that the Chief is pushing to hire over the 30 that the SAFER grant is going to cover.

50 people moved on to the background checks. There was one no-show for the ladder climb so it is down to at least 49.

If the Chief is trying to hire more than the 30 that'll be funded by the SAFER grant, is there any idea as to how many more he is going to try to get for this class?

I received an email yesterday stating that had passed to the next phase of the process and that I need to go downtown for a background check info.

Any idea on how many received a new letter stating that they are moving on like Kyle Larson? I wonder if this is to increase the first class or to get enough for a second?

Everyone that completes and passes the ladder climb should go on to the backround check. Not everyone will get hired but they will keep those not hired on the list for the next class if there is one. I know the Chief wants to do a few more than the original 30 but I don't know how many. I have heard they want a class by May 1st if they can get all the psych and medical testing completed and turned over to PERF.

I just re-read the post by KL and to answer the question, I don't know how many more might have received new letters. I'm assuming this was the one the original 50 received awhile ago.

After completing my finger prints downtown I talked to the lady and she said that she got an email saying that 9 or so would be coming her way.

Thanks, I hope it all works out. how long did it take for you to receive an invite to the ladder climb after you turned your background info in? couple of weeks,days?

I think it was about a month and a half... There was some confusion on finger printing and we had to do it twice. That might of delayed the process a bit.
