I can not understand your question.
The amount of people who pass depend on the requirements for the job, if everyone tesing has to be an EMT, FF1, or Medic there will usually be a larger number passing with higher scores than just an open test.
There are different kinds of written tests and some are harder than others.Good Luck, Capt Rob

I take it your question is, "What percentage of people applying for a department will pass the written test"?
Again there is no standard number. It depends on the type of tests, the number of people testing, their education level, and if there are preparation tools available. Some departments will have the written, physical and oral interview pass/fail, and will only take a certain number that scored high enough. They will then take a number, say the top 100, to move on to the next step.
Others could have thousands pass, all you need to worry about is making sure you pass.
The Don McNea fire school is a great resource for written tests.Good Luck, Capt Rob

As FFighter Rob stated, I've tested in a group of 4500 and they only passed the top 132. I've also tested where the city took around 8,000 applications. And just shy of 6,000 passed the written. Again, doesn't matter the percent as long as you're in that percentage.
