One person method please!!!!!!!!
I'm 5'7", 160lb's. I'm not a built guy. I have had no problems with the 24's.
This isn't me, but here's a good video with some clean technique

Put the base, aka foot of ladder, to the base of the wall and then raise the ladder. Many TRUCKMEN uses the single man above the shoulder method to carry a ground ladder. Once they are at the building or target they drop the butt where they want it and throw the rest upwards. We have always taught new members to do this method. Some members are big enough to carry a 28 or 30 foot ladder and do as good as some with a 24.
Practice is necessary to achive the results.
Thanks everyone.
