Just out of curiosity does anybody know if EMS gets the parking decals that allow you to park without getting a ticket like fire and PD?

Got my letter to take the physical - sept 16. List number mid 700s - just to give people an idea of where this test is at.

Was told when I went for my medical that we'll get a phone call, officially telling you that you're in, and then a letter telling you where to report etc. Apparently they also have to give us two weeks notice so that we can put in proper resignation at said jobs. That being said if a class goes in on the second week of October people should be getting phone calls this week. I Can't lie though, I am getting antsy. Who ever gets a phone call first, let us all know.

What?! You dont have better things to worry about than parking placards??

Those things are nothing but dashboard clutter; brownies dont respect them. Break a parking rule, and youll absolutely get a ticket no matter what is on your dash. The only time they get any courtesy is when youre at work.

Obviously I do. But in the mean time; until I get on the job, I can be curious about the few perks that come with it.

It's not a perk because it really doesn't do much for you, except make everyone aware that you are a member OTJ when parking at department facilities. Maybe, MAYBE you could get courtesy from a cop walking a beat and giving out tickets, but no traffic agent is gonna cut you a break because of it. Think of it like your boots, or uniform pants. It's just a part of the job, not something special.

I guess they are looking to process more applicants since they are starting an academy class soon. I took exam 2004 and got a list no of 1***. Just got the letter for the initial physical/ PAT for October 13. Anyone else?

Btw to those who are in the October class, I'm hearing a rumor that the promo exam to fire is going to be offered every 4 years instead of 2 now. If anyone remembers to ask; possibly during orientation, I'd appreciate it and I'm pretty sure everyone else looking to move up would as well.
