That depends on how many people they bring in on the same day. While one person could do it all in an hour, I'd expect it to take 3-4 considering there will probably be 20-30 people doing it at the same time.
There were less then 4 of us during my medical still took about 5 hours. Got to remember uniformed FDNY are in there doing there annual medical exam too.
heh, well then I guess the easy answer is to plan on taking all day, and be happy when you get out early.
This thread is SO DEAD. aren't there people going through the hiring process for this? lol..
so i got everything for EMS done. just finished up my written psych and i called my investigator and she said she has everything she needs from me, if she needs anything further she will call me. does anyone know if there an oral psych for ems? also when is the rumored next academy, as i assume thats that call i am waiting for since i am already done with everything..
Thanks in advance.
I feel like I've heard it's possible to be called for an oral follow up, but there's gotta be something wrong. If everything is squared away then it's just a matter of sitting on your *** and waiting. I would expect less than 2 weeks notice, and if you're close to the cut off you could very well get called on the Friday before the class starts. So... you're basically stuck in the dark. I was the first person given a job offer in my PTOP, and I got 1.5 weeks notice.
Oh they legally have to?? Well be sure to tell them that when you get the phone call less than 2 weeks before 1/14. Also the TOP classes are a consistent ~90 EMTs per class. It isn't likely to go bigger due to size constraints at Fort Totten.
I got the call a week before the academy lol My class had 150 people split up into 3 platoons. I believe there may be one more class of 150 in January and the rest will be 80-90.
ya it's a nightmare..luckily one of the tour 3 platoons used the CFR building and they parked over there.
Fun story: As part of the fire academy all EMS members go through CFR training at the CFR building. I'm actually looking forward to it because I don't backboard people that often, and it will be good practice.
Got my call for the January class today! This process has been extremely humbling. I'm extremely excited to say the least. By the way in some of my past comments I let my immaturity and impatience get the best of me (skylinepcg that's to you). In no way do I disrespect the job, the people who do it, and everything that it takes to get there. I've recently began looking at life and my self differently. Regardless, I'm thrilled to go to the next step of this journey and I'm hoping some of you will be getting your calls as well.
