I am a student at Santa Ana College nearly done with my classes and will be attending the academy in about 6 months- 1 year.
I recently picked an Orange County Fire IAFF 3631 sticker and would like to put it on my truck to show support for the awesome OCFA firemen and also to IAFF and their charities.
I am not a firefighter but Im in the process to be as many are.
Is there a problem with putting a sticker of a fire helmet on my truck? I didnt think twice about it when I purchased it because I have extreme passion for Fire and everything you all do and wanted to show support and am excited to get started in this career but I had a buddy in one of my fire classes tell me to ask on here first. So here I am.
What do ya'll think?
Thanks for taking the time to read this and for your input

Contact IAFF Local 3631 and see what they think.

Simple, you aren't in the Union, so you shouldn't do it.

Really??? Seriously??? You had to come on here to ask this question??? If your buddy told you to strip naked and start finger banging your mary jane rottencrotch in the middle of Times Square, would you? Me thinks there is no "buddy" (other than his mary jane) and he just wanted to see one person on here endorse his idea. Grow up. You know the answer.

To the O.P., no. Hold it until you join them.

Wrong.
IAFF stickers, hats, shirts and anything with that logo are not sold nor should be given to any non member. In fact, it is written in our by-laws that upon sale of your vehicle, the stickers are to be removed.
To the O.P. I don't know where you got that, but do not use it. It will serve you best as a non dues paying member to place it in your sock drawer. The brothers at OCFA won't appreciate it at all if you display that sticker on your window.
I wish we could police ourselves with our union swag as well as the CHP does.IAFF

What he said and...
If you bought a sticker saying " US Sercert Service with their logo", would you put that on your vehicle?? No you wouldn't.
Likewise you aren't a firefighter and you can't shouldn't put that sticker on you vehicle, indicating to others that you are.
Put it away and someday you may become a member of that deparment and a local member and then you are allowed to have it on your car.Stay Safe and Well Out There....

Stickers
Just because everyone sells the stickers doesn't make it right. If your a NON Union member you should be sporting a Union sticker. O.T and Mr Ball had the correct answers.

For dues paying members only my friend. Also, in the almost 20 years that I have been in the IAFF, I have never paid for an IAFF sticker, those come from union HQ as a gift to locals to show their union pride. As for sticker that the OP put up , I'm not sure if the locals buy those custom made or not. In any case, if a local is selling those to it's members after all the dues paid, well I believe they are doing them a great disservice.

Decals
30 years in IAFF and CSFA and decals came with the membership. You got two per year. Your member ship paid for the decals. If your NOT a member or a family member of a Union member then DO NOT PUT THEM ON YOUR VEHICLES.
