Kentucky LOD injury and civilian fatality
FF/EMT Tim Goble of Paintsville Fire-Rescue-EMS was injured yesterday morning during a search for a civilian in a house fire.
I don't know the exact details of what caused it, but somehow Tim's mask became dislodged. The three other firefighters who were inside with him were able to quickly get him to safety, then proceed with the rescue of the victim. Unfortunately, that victim was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Tim was transferred to Cabell-Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV for observation in the ICU and treatment of airway burns. He has also had some vision loss. He was discharged early yesterday afternoon and is home doing well, as of the last update I heard.“I am more than just a serious basketball fan. I am a life-long addict. I was addicted from birth, in fact, because I was born in Kentucky.”
