    61? And they were supposedly wanting 30FF and 30medics? If calls are done or this next academy I guess they are really banking on everyone passing the next few steps. Well, odds seem real good at the moment for those who did get a call!

    Sounds like they want an academy of 25, so I am guessing to get the 30/30 they will do another round later on. The very tentative plan as I was told it is a late March/early April academy to come out of this group with calls going out in a couple weeks for the lucky ones.

    Calls to the lucky folks, then psych/suitability test, med and fingerprints for background

    Has anyone taken a psych test before? I had my chief interview on xmas eve. It went well I am hoping for the next academy. Congrats to everyone that has made it this far in the process. Everyone that has not received a call for an interview yet or didn't get an interview my best advice to all of you is keep trying and put the effort in to being successful and you will succeed.

    Was your interview super short too?

    The psych is the easiest part. I think the only people who fail are people who really do need legitimate psychological help Just relax and answer honestly and all is well. Good luck!

    yea it was pretty short and to point. It was a good interview and way less stress then the panel interview. I am sure my psych is intact. So I will flow with the punches and keep my phone next to me.

    I'm wondering if they made "61" calls just for the EMT spots? Or 61 calls total....

    a buddy of mine down there said they are interviewing 10% of what passed the CPAT and they picked from that bunch what they deemed the potential "top 10%" for interviews. so sounds like 610 passed and from there it's all unknown how the guys/gals who got called got picked

    Just that 10% who got chiefs interviews have a chance to get hired from this list? I figured they would do another round of chiefs interviews later on for another academy.

    Well if they called 61 people for Chiefs and that's the top 10% overall. That means there are 610 people for both Firefighter & Firefighter/Paramedic; so that's about 305 for each pool.

    What I remembered the CCFD HR lady told me is that for the other 549 people who didn't get the call, we're all still in the running for the next two years for each round of Rookie School depending on need, funding and ultimately the Chief.

    The lady in HR told me at the CPAT that there was 75 medics going to CPAT. So actaully the list is heavily weighed on the emt side. They will most likely go back to the list after the academy and pull the medics that were on the firefighter recruitment that didn't have their certs in time to apply for the medic recruitment.

    Don't quote me on this, but I thought I read somewhere that when they do a recruit class at CCFD, they have to hire 50% EMTS and 50% medics per their IAFF contract. Maybe someone more familiar with the situation could explain it better than I can.

    Ya, they have a a Union agreement. If they want a different ratio than 50/50, they need the approval from their local IAFF.. I read this some place in the past...

    For what? Chief Interview or for academy?
