So from what I've read the test consists of 100 multiple choice questions and the time limit is one hour?

Yes, if it the same sytle test.... it was like an hour or something like that... It was basic questions, nothing too tricky... it just took a while to do the reading comp and the math.

Did anyone get an email from CC? I got my app in and it lists it on my governmentjobs.com status as 'received', but haven't had anything from CC...?
A little worried, since most of the times I get something back from the agency fairly quickly.

Nothing from CC. I received the automated email from gov jobs saying when my app was submitted. I emailed CC HR and asked when they wanted the Veterans Docs and EMT stuff. They replied and said sometime in the future, haha..

I think the CC website said something to the effect of "Candidates will receive information pertaining to the next step within four weeks after the hiring period closes." If I understand that correctly, we won't hear anything until after July 3rd, the last day to appy for CC, at the earliest.
I looked at the last hire, and this one changes by only 3 days: 6/22/2010 (apply), 8/9/2010 (written), 12/9/2010 (my oral board)...
If all stays the same this time,...6/19/2012 (apply), 8/6/2012 (written), 12/ 6/2012 (oral board).....but I guess it depends on the urgency to hire. I don't think the last hire was anywhere near 60-100.

I received the email notifying me that the exam will be August 6th @ 8 am. However, I checked my gov't jobs status and the test time is for 2 pm. Anyone else in the same boat? I'm going to call on Monday to verify.

I emailed HR and they said that the email is your official invitation as well as the correct time. I guess I'll be showing up for the 8am!

got my app in and received the invite for the written test.
I am from out of state and don't want to waste a bunch of money traveling out there several times for the application process if I would just be wasting my time, so that is the reason for the following question.
From my understanding they are looking to hire 60 positions, of those 60 positions are most of those going to be the paramedic firefighter, not the entry level non medic positions? I do not have my medic so that is the reason i ask. I know last time around they hired mostly medics.

Am testing on August 6th, at 2pm. raptorhunter89, I attended one of the outreach sessions and they informed us that their policy states that each academy is made up of 50% EMT's and 50% Medics.

Does anyone know if they allowed 2500 applicants for Firefighter 1 and then 2500 applicants for Firefighter 1 Paramedic or did they just allow 2500 between the two openings? I'm hoping 2500 between the two openings.
