I am currently a Fire Science student, and I have a paper due. I am doing the paper on Fire Service Research and why there are barriers to conducting research. I was wondering what is everyone's take on Fire Service Research? Should the USFA collect data on the various issues, like fires(multiples, number of Arsons, etc), new technologies, Fire Apperatus crashes, etc and make there findings public? I would personally love to see the USFA collect data on the number of fires and other emergency service calls nationwide and break them down by state, city and county then break them down again according to to Arson, Suspicous Origins, Multiple alarms,EMS calls, etc.
What do you guys think?
