hey bud, I'm working in eastern NM on the border of Texas at a career dept. What questions do you have? I think Albuquerque is currently hiring.

yeah PERA (public employee retirement system) of new mexico used to be retire at 20yrs now they bumped it back to 25 before I got hired. Los Alamos is hiring currently I believe.
Most departments here 95% at least are NON union. Compared to California where most of them are.

Just your basic stuff that isn't available online. Such as morale of the departments? Hiring practices? What canidates they tend to hire? (Ex. college degree, fire exp, EMS exp, military, etc.) How many usually test? How often they do they test? Economic climate in those areas? Progressive or more traditional? Anything else that you'd like to add is welcome too.

If anybody from the New Mexico area is still available to answer the questions the last individual asked that would be appreciated. I too am interested to hear the response. Another thing I would like to add, coming from Wisconsin one question that is beneficial to know before investing in multiple trips is the average response to open positions in that area. Any help would be great!
