Has anyone been awarded/ heard of anyone been awarded a project to retrofit apparatus to add a behind-the-panel inline intake valve like a MIV or an electric butterfly valve?

We are a small rural district using tender shuttles and find currently use dual 3" gated Siamese suctions for switching from tank water over to draft, and back to tank. Unfortunately the additional of a removable intake valve to these gated Siamese valves would stick out (single suction rear panel pumper) way too far, and is stacking valves. In theory, we could ditch the 3" suction completely with the addition of gated 6" intakes, but we use 3" camlocks around the district for quick connections, so completely going away from dual/triple 3" is out.
