My department has an active Junior Firefighter program. I see the words Explorer and Cadet programs used in the SAFER guidance; would our junior program, while not specifically termed an Explorer/Cadet program, be eligible for SAFER funding?

I would think you would want to have some kind of affilaition, I am sure the feds would not want to fund a program only to find out the department is in violation of federal labor laws. An explorer program is affilated with the Boy scouts and will provide guidance on how the program should be run and what jr firefigthers can and cant do. In my mind a home grown Jr program might creat too may questions.Quote:
