I'm new to this but I have been looking into Saint Paul fire and some surrounding areas. I currently Work for the State of Minnesota, I have for the past 8.5 years, I am also active in the MN Army National Guard and am just returning from a year long deployment from Iraq/Kuwait. I really want to become a firefighter but I may have a snag. With two DUI's (the last one being over two years ago, no accidents, just got pulled over at night) am I automatically disqualified from being accepted on a dept. such as Saint Paul or Minneapolis? Also if not, would the fact that those are on my record deter those who do the hiring from giving me a chance? Any input you may have will be greatly appreciated.
