How do your departments list members who are career FF's with paid departments? We have several members who are unable to attend weekly meetings because of their career positions. When you combine those absences with the normal absences on a week to week basis, it can really hit your participation % when ISO reviews training records. Do we just take the hit and accept the % as it is or is there a way to benefit from having them with our department and not sacrifice participation as it's reviewed by ISO? Also, do you keep up with training the career FF's do at their paid departments?

We request, from the members, a written copy of thier training records for the year. We have not had a problem with the full-time departments providing those records.
Under the system in LA, which is similair in many respects to ISO, we can claim 50% of that training.
All out of district state and national training, such as cklasses at a state academy and the NFA, can be claimed as 100% for both agencies.Train to fight the fires you fight.

have your career ff's training listed as training attended. Should bump their % back up and you have documentation of their ongoing training
