Any guys from the emt list currently in the hiring process? according to the lady i called i ranked number 1 on the list but i havent even gotten a call so im wondering ..

Hey Guys just wondering if you saw that Pasco opened up again for Fire/Medic might mean that they dont have enough Medics so whoever is in this process is most likely in. And could be a good sign that the safer grant was approved..

Nope. I believe the firefighter's union still has yet to vote on how to handle the county Admin's decision to withhold utilizing the grant/hiring unless a grievance is dropped by the union. Chief Gordon said we might not hear back for another few weeks.

Got hired by a very good dept and most importantly not on a grant . pasco should have been more clear and communicative they are handling this process very poorly

Like anywhere else, Pasco is going through budget problems and they are making do with what resources they have in regards to administration within the fd. Have you guys kept up with the news at all? Do you know why the hiring is being pushed back further? The department admin has very little pull when it comes to this sort of thing. The county admin will ONLY accept the grant if the firefighters union votes to drop a grievance over lost wages. Talked to Chief Gordon and a number of the firefighters at Tampa General and it seems like it could be a while before the union votes. So read up before knocking the department. This is all politics and unfortunately, we are stuck in the middle.

Still waiting to hear from Pasco I interviewed on jan 15th. Did anyone else interview that week ? If so have you heard back ? I know it's only been a week since the interview .

I interviewed with first group over the summer and recieved my final offer pending physical 2 weeks ago. I have my physical tomorrow and Chief Gordon said they want the class to start orientation sometime middle of march.

It took them about a week from calling me about background check till I got final offer.

got a call from Pasco yesterday about FF/EMT. Think i was placed 42 on the list. The Chief said they are going thro the list to check on interest and who are already hired else where.
