So I recently had my Interview with a civil service department in North East Massachusetts in June 2012. One week after the interview I was called back for the background investigation, finger prints and a residence check, which all seemed to have checked out just fine. Since then I have not heard one word from anyone about if or if not I got the job. I was wondering if this long wait is normal and if I should of heard anything by now if I didn't get the job? I'm very excited and anxious and would appreciate any input. Thanks

Yes, this is very normal. Things take time to process. The good new is that it seems as if the department is planning to hire you. No department would spend the money to put a candidate through all of this if they were not serious about hiring them. Be patient even though it's difficult. Make sure you are in top physical condition for when you get the call. Best of luck to you and congratulations for making it this far!!!!
