I am getting ready to fill out my first Fire department application and have a few questions. First off should it be typed or is hand written ok? I am not sure how I would type it,as it is a paper application I picked up from the city hall. Also is it generally a good idea to get a copy of my high school transcript to attach? As far as a resume does anyone have any good suggestions on how to structure it with no previous fire experience?
Thanks

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER - I think this is clear enough - hand write an application.
This is your first test - firefighters are expected to be problem solvers. Find a typewriter

If you have the ability, scan it and turn it into an editable PDF. If you have to use a typewriter, make plenty of copies for the fook ups. And only attach the information/credentials/documents that they ask for, and when they ask for it.

Some Kinkos/FedEx stores have type writers.

Question for capt Bob or Chief Lapore, for this department you will get extra credit if you have your medic card already, which I don't but I do have my EMT Basic card.. Do you think it would be a good idea to include a copy of my Basic card showing that I have started my EMS training?

Sure, include it. It cannot hurt.
