What else would you like to know about it? I can take a stab at any questions or get the information you are looking for.

ColoradoDave - I don't have a current red card ether and I knew I couldn't get one before the deadline. I spoke to the HR rep who represents RWBFR & LDFR regarding that issue to see if there was any flexibility. I was told that if I submitted an application with a plan and timeframe to get the S-130/S-190 cert it would be considered in the hiring process.
You can go to the Colorado Fire Camp in Salida, CO to get the certification. The next class is Sept 13th - 16th. It doesnt conflict with the hiring schedule set by this process.

I don't know the answer to that. I have contacted the HR rep again to see if they actually are hiring or if it is a list but they have not got back to me yet. I will post on here once I know. If it is a list hopefully it will be good for several years.
**Rumor is that RWB and LDFR are going to combine into one district. No idea if they will but it would make it a decent sized career mountain department but only time will tell.Last edited by BoulderJ; 08-20-2012 at 12:32 AM.

So Matt the HR rep for both departments got back to me.
He said a merger of the departments is likely but not a definite plan.
The departments do not currently have any openings so the list is just for future avalibility.
The list will be good for two years.

There is no residency requirement for ether district.
Haha sure would be nice to get off work in the morning and be a few minutes or a short walk away from the slopes!

Nothing yet, still another day before the application period closes. Per the application packet they will not let candidates know if they accepted their applications and are invited to test until 9/6, so not until next week. I have heard they "have a lot of applicants at this point".

I received a call this morning from HR and he stated I had made it past the initial stage but the Chief's were still reviewing application packets. He said they would be in touch shortly by email to let those people know if they were invited to test on the 17th. That is the only update I have. Best of luck.

IFSAC seal is what is screwing me, my out of state cert don't bare that seal and they don't want to deal with the cert reciprocity.... Sucks being in this position.... I'm hoping I can do that reciprocity in my own? Any info on that would be soooo greatly appreciated.
Congrats CoDave
