I will try and get you some pics of what we have tomorrow. We have a Ranger, with a wildland/stokes unit, Indian Cans, a tool chest, swamp mops and some gas cans on our trailer. I'll take pics as soon as I can/remember and either post them here or PM them to you.
Not too long ago we got a Kubota with a fire skid and ems skid plus a large trailer. Our shop guys are still working on fab'ing up the trailer but when its done I'll try to swing by and get some pics.
Chenzo did you get pictures yet?
What are swamp mops ?
Sklump, I'm on call tomorrow for EMS and I'll be at the fire station so I will take pictures.
slackjawed and fire pundit, Fire Swatter/Swamp Mop/Swamp Whomper. Here's a pic. Idk what the hell you wanna call it but here it's a swamp mop or a swamp whomper. lol.
From my first grass fire on my #1 POC FD in 1977 those things have always been called swamp whompers. Why, I haven't got a clue. But I guess it is local like so many other things. You know like asking a guy if he wants the knob in some places means do you want the nozzle, here it might get your teeth turned into bloody Chiclets because of the other possible meaning!
Down here "slappers"
Thank you for the pic.
Coucil tool used to sell it as a "Fire Swatter" even though you don't swat with it. I always called it a mudflap on a stick. Heard it called a lot but, swamp mop was new to me. I love it.
