I had to register a new account, old account was invalid and FEMA was not very helpful allowing me access again...

That's atypical of them to not be helpful to you. They are usually very helpful. If that is the case then it will appear in far right box on status page when you log in where it currently says "view applications" that will turn to "update 1199a"

Probably a good portion of the paper apps were vehicles, and since they can't treat the applications differently based on method they had to wait on reviewing/scoring those before making any movement on the online ones to make sure none would get bumped. Review was the first week of December on the paper apps, would imagine the movement and integration would be done by now so they could continue with 1199As. But not holding my breath on it...

Found an 1199 this morning for local EMS. I am not sure how long it has been there since I am not the primary on it and haven't been watching it. Still trying to settle the SAM conversion issue though. Hope it gets cleaned up quick.

How are they not obligate to retain those positions after the grant expires? If that be the case we can all apply to get full time position for three years at a time and let someone else pay. I think some are already appling that system.

Anyone having luck this week? I've had nothing on my end thus far which I guess is not a bad thing. I looked to see if they had a release on this weeks award but haven't updated it yet.

There was a round out today, as I had an award announcement this morning for one of mine.

The change in the program for 2011 made it 2 years free, no 3rd year obligation. 2010 was first two free, had to keep 3rd at 100% and it was too steep compared to the old 5 year. Which worked a lot better for everyone for actually being a long term solution....

But the financial argument does expect some sort of long-range funding plan when it involves new positions. Does for rehiring, but generally that was caused by something unplanned, like a housing bubble. With new positions it's an expansion, like this project appears to be since it's the first paid FFs for the department. These are the ones where there will be no repeat awards down the road, like some have done recently. Can't keep them after 2 years, you will have to lay them off and then pin your hopes on a sympathetic rehiring peer review team. That changed in 2012, they had to be certifiably laid off by the end of the app period, or proof of that at the end of the budget year.

Washer/dryer was most likely cut because it fell under equipment rather than PPE and that section of the grant didn't score high enough for peer. Word is that they are aware of that being an issue for PPE w/washer apps and may try to put the washer/dryers under the PPE category next year.

Got to hit dinner table before the Mrs gets mad, but spot checked and found a 1st timer on a regional SCBA. So probably more out there, glad to see some movement finally for everyone. Congrats to all.

Trev, you find a Regional by chance? Checked my list and found a nice 430K regional comm, but nothing else.

    Congrats.

Sly, mine wasn't a regional, it was for equipment.

Just found an Update with no email sent, wasn't there last night.

Scratch the PPE comment, reading the wrong line. Was radios. PPE was the other app. Late night with FP deadline and 1 cup of coffee makes Brian read cross-eyed.

Found an 1199A for a department that wasn't there yesterday. Looks like a new HRT, stabilization kit and air bag system for them.
