I was told congress had not planned to release 2012 fund and was going to used 2013 funds. It came from a reliable source but can not verify truth of it.
Awards coming tomorrow so not really an issue. Would imagine we'll see more 1199As tomorrow and then more awards in 2-3 weeks.
RD#1 2012 AFG awards announced today. We ought to see some 1199a activity ASAP I would imagine.;)
Thanks Kurt. Got some Happy fire fighter this AM
This is probably nothing, but thought I would post it anyway. Logged on to the portal just a moment ago to check for any 1199a updates (probably the first of 27 times I will do this today). There were no updates but the previous awards that are listed have been re-sequenced. Just found it odd.
Well let me save everyone a lot of clicking and checking.. Nothing new there as of 10:00AM EST.I just went through my whole list of clients.
It is not going to surprise me and I am pretty certain we are going to see a couple of weeks without anything happening as far as awards and or 1199a updating going on because of the FY2011-12 closeout approaching next week and the new FY2012-13 budget being started up. Typically we have seen this happen in the past; I mean think about it? How many of you complain about closing out just 1 grant; can you imagine what it is like to close the books out on the Federal grant system and $68 billion dollars in grants that are given away annually? I don't think we will see any further 2012 AFG or SAFER activity till around mid October.;) Patience Grasshopper!
utfd, the order isn't related to anything. It has to do with the indexing on the database, lag times, etc. Usually they'll show up in the same order each time, but since it's most likely a server farm setup the data is spread across more than one database. So when the request is made the data return comes back in different orders. Pays to have/be a nerd sometimes. :D
Interestingly, I just found one dated 9/14/12 that was certainly not in the initial batch.
Have they dumped any more 1199's lately? Really looking for our airpack grant to go through this time. Made it all the way through the last time (at least we believe so) and just wasn't awarded.
Should see some activity with 1199s this week if they are going to start back by end of October?
Fingers tightly crossed.
I received a call from FEMA about a month ago on our SCBA app. There was a discrepancy between the narrative and the computer app for our number of active firefighters. The rep from FEMA didn't make it sound like it was a big deal.
We made it to peer review last year, so I'd have to think our chances would be pretty good this year without all those narrowbanding grants. This is the fourth attempt, third for SCBAs. Luck has to change sooner or later.
Don't recall it being this quite in here before. Someone always had something to say.
