This is a question that is probably a dime a dozen but are there any fire departments that are hiring in 2013 ? and do Louisiana certifications like firefighter 1 &2 ( i have hazmat awareness, ops, emt-B , firefighter 1&2, and driver operator) and such count in other states? thank you for your time in reading

Thank you for the quick reply I was looking at the states Texas, Arizona, California, and Oregon. I know it's a wide range and every where I look I get dead end answers about what or where to look so any bit more helps ! I read more from the forum and learned a lot about the different tests but missed out !

look at state requirements for certs.
make a spreadsheet of all depts in the areas you would/want to go and bookmark their websites.
you have to do the footwork, nobody is going to hand you a job or hold you hand to tell you who's hiring. in all honesty, guys who say they dont know who's hiring or where to look arent trying hard enough. i think its fairly simple to find out who's hiring and i dont pay for site who tell you.

I agree with you on going to websites and there's a million cities to look at I thougt the point of a forum was to help each other out even if it's been asked a thousand times lol it's ... Part of our job to go to the same place for the routine call. Well thank you for the advice I've already filled out a lot of the email notifications from the places I found. Appreciate it.
