Hi Folks,
I have a 2000 E-One Transport Engine that has developed a five foot crack in the frame rail above the rear axle. Suppose to have a life time warranty but E-One is saying it is environmental and refusing to cover it. This is based on a picture we sent them, nothing else. Our specialists that have looked at it say it was improperly coated and sealed. The engine is unsafe to put back on the road. Our mechanics in 27 years have never saw a cracked frame on any vehicles. Anyone else having frame issues with E-One? Thanks

Cracked Frame Rail on E-One

I'm mostly only posting to keep this thread bumped. We have two E-Ones but they're on commercial chassis.
Don't back down. That's a major issue and they should stand behind it, or at least look for themselves and give some kind of pretend excuse why they think it's environmental."Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet.”

This is a big deal, and one that it sounds like you need to get an attorney involved in ASAP. While virtually every warranty will have exceptions, a manufacturer the size of E-One selling a chassis/frame rail warranty that would have exceptions for "environmental" issues is ridiculous. They sell chassis worldwide - are they also refusing chassis claims in the northeast and Canada?

KCFD had some E-One aerials that that frame rails cracked several years ago, kept it pretty quite.
