Don't worry "kkg88" it will be in the news when they figure it out. Only time will tell now. I don't see it happening before spring time.

kkg88 can you PM me with information? Reason being is that I'll be at work and have another test on the 17th. Thank you! Also to everyone applying, does NH require city residency by the time of appointment. Reason I ask is I'm thinking of living somewhere else. Thanks as always!

    FYI -

The time of the Recruitment Meeting was changed to 4pm, location stays the same. If you have plans to attend, everyone advises to arrive early.

Also if you are not familiar with New Haven, I highly suggest you get there earlier and check out Louie's Lunch, home of the orginal hamburger!

I see under the requirements that you need a CT Drivers License. Can anyone confirm whether you need one to apply, or just be able to get one upon being hired?

Per the retired Assistant Chief I spoke with last week at the meeting, they are hiring 2 back to back classes of about 40. They are down 120 firefighters, so more will probably be hired during the life of the list.

Well, now that the process has closed, anyone have any ideas as to how many applied? Also, did anyone else hear the rumors of a class of 45 to start as soon as June?

I waited approx 1 hour and drove 5.5 hrs to hand it in, I heard the rumor about back to back classes of 40, I also heard a rumor of approx 2000 people applying to take it, when your around 120 to 160 short (from my understanding there somewhere in that ballpark) 2000 people is not alot and still gives everyone a good shot. A plus is tht you had to go and hand it in in person, which deters alot of the people that seen serious about the job.

Yeah, 2000 isn't a bad number at all... especially with the talk of the amount of hiring potential. i have a 4 hour drive. but its well worth it, they seem like a very aggressive, busy, squared away dept! Best of luck to you all!

I drove up from NYC on Thursday to drop off an app, wait was only about 25 minutes. Anyone know much about what the test is gonna look like or how the process works if your number gets called? I wasn't able to make the open houses.

I did do some research and found some interesting opinions on the hiring process from awhile back (see link below), any idea if it's changed since then?

Still no test date or time? The website they told us to check still has a tentative date and time listed.
