Wow 300s got letters! they are moving*right along.

The emt "exam" is only an experience based test. So everyone either applied at dcas or online.

What is the recommended attire for the Medical? I was planning on wearing a suit, but when I started to think about it that might be a hassle during a medical evaluation.

I don't know any specifics but I don't think they are really to strict.

    Have you done your psych?

I talked to my investigator yesterday. He said not to wear a suit, wear sweat pants and a t shirt for the medical. Just follow the dress code guidelines in your medical letter, no opened toed shoes etc...

Do not wear sweat pants and a T shirt to your medical..You should always look decent at every step in the process. BHS is always full of guys OTJ, captains, chiefs..etc. I remember wearing khakis and a collared shirt for mine..no need for a suit..but just my opinon.

No one is going to bat an eye at athletic attire for the medical, since you will be doing the stairs. I would just try to make sure the sweats fit properly and don't look like ****.

There are no stairs for the EMS medical. I agree with EBHFD, no need for a suit but still dress somewhat presentable. You always want to make a good impression

We are talking about the medical correct? not the physical agility. How long ago did you go through the process? It was probably changed since. I am on list 2004 and took my medical back in Jan/Feb. there were no stairs.

If your going to your medical at BHS, thats when you meet with the doctor. There are no stairs there..so dress casual. If your doing your physical at Fort Totten thats is when there is stairs and the other events. There you would want to wear athletic attire.

I was speaking just of the medical and I went through the process in 2009 so it's been a while.

I read on emtlife.com , that they are skipping males over to fill a male:female ratio for the academy.

I belive the number they are up to is 37*

I call bull**** on that one. I've never heard of a male/female ratio in EMS hiring.

If the last letter you got was in march and it was your list number, you still got a long road ahead of you. Its gonna take some time. I got my score and list number and was scheduled for the next step (physical agility test) almost a year later.
