Would start by asking the department you are connected with, where you can get the training, then check the schedules at those schools
Give them a call

I'm pretty sure it's going to depend on your area. FF1 in my area consisted of 2 to 3 nights a week and 1 day on the weekend until we completed. Like fire49 said your best bet is to contact the department you are joining and contact the academy or college hosting the FF1 class.

These guys have given you good info. I agree to check with your Chief or Training Officer. This time of year is pretty popular for departments to start a FF1 class. Your Chief or T.O. may know of a department near you that is starting up a class. The class will be free to you(your department) if it is through the Fire Service Training Bureau, the only cost is to test out and most of the time the department covers that. Most of the classes around here run 2 nights a week and maybe a couple Sat. or Sun. classes to work on practical stuff. Good Luck!

thank you! that would be great if i could take the classes locally with another department. as a volly with a full time career commitment traveling for the class would be rather difficult. thank you guys for the advice i will ask my chief about this tonight at our meeting.
